Marketing Quick – Hit Tips

I wanted to start a series of quick-hit tips to help you get better results in your marketing.

These are some of the top things you need to understand moving into the New Year and the new mindset of today’s buyers:

* Copy is not advertising. It’s salesmanship in print. You do not need to always be selling a product or service (not recommended), you should be selling your prospects and clients on you, your ideas, your values, etc. Get them over to your side, and then, once they are warmed up, then you can sell your products and services. Trust always comes first.

* You don’t need to be a 10/10 in marketing to get great results, you can be a 6! Everyone else is a zero. If you doubt this… LOOK around you. Their ads suck. Their yellow page postings suck. Their websites suck. They do not understand marketing…and it shines through.

Big reason why so many companies are failing right now…they think price cutting is a winning marketing strategy. It’s not!

* The receptivity of the recipient is MORE IMPORTANT than the copy itself. (message to market match). You can have the best copy in the world…but if it is targeted at the wrong audience…it WILL fail. Mediocre copy targeted at the right audience will almost ALWAYS win. As a copywriter and marketing consultant, I hate to say copy isn’t ALWAYS king…but I know it…and I make sure my copywriting clients know it too.

Marketing Cover letter tips

Many people think that drafting cover letters is a waste of time as it is not much of an important document. The resume is a document which gives a detailed picture of the person’s achievements and accomplishments. However, the cover letter is a must with every resume, and the employers do not accept only resumes, as they wish to go through the cover letters first. Moreover, the employers do not have time to spend for reading the complete resume. Hence, with every resume it is beneficial to send a cover letter too. Every job has its own cover letter that is drafted accordingly. Keeping the nuances of each job requirement, the applicant must draft the cover letter and make it impressive.

Marketing cover letters are one such kind. People in the marketing field are supposed to be adaptive to the changing market conditions and should possess skills which will help in the marketing of the company’s products and/or services.

It might sound strange, but in order that a marketing cover letter is selected by the employer; the applicant has to make it sellable. It is the opportunity that the applicant can use to show his or her dynamic skills to the employer for a marketing job.

Tips for a better marketing cover letter:

Email Marketing – Highly Effective Email Marketing Tips

Today, most businesses cannot survive without email communication. Almost every business uses email to conduct business and keep in contact with their prospects. Email marketing is the most effective way to promote a product or service when it comes to internet marketing. The best practice of email marketing is to always build your own list. A subscriber list is an asset to your business. With a responsive list full of loyal subscribers, you can drive traffic and get sales on demand. So, you should try to build your list as soon as possible.

So how do you build a strong email list? The best way is to place an opt-in form on your website to entice people to opt-into your list. Usually, you can offer a free gift such as e-book, whitepaper, coupon, voucher, software or video in exchange for your website visitors’ email addresses and names. If you want to increase your conversion, you can set up a separate web page just to capture email addresses and names of your visitors.

This is known as a squeeze page. Another way to collect email addresses is to offer a survey. Tell them that they will receive a free gift after completing the survey. Just before they start the survey, they must enter their emails and names.

Split Testing – Email Marketing Tips

To find out which email marketing strategy works better, it is a great way to use split testing. It is not difficult to do this if you use an autoresponder service like Aweber. The problem is that what do you split test and how? This article mentions some split testing strategies for your emails that lead to interesting and useful results.

At the top of my list of things to split test is the subject line of the email. This is going to be the thing that gets the prospect to open the email in the first place. Most autoresponder services have personalization fields that you can use in your subject. So one split testing strategy is to use the subject as is and then with the personalization field and see which one gets a better response. In some niches, using the person’s name in the subject actually decreases the open rate.

You will find this out for yourself. And of course, aside from using personalization as a split test, you can try two completely different subject lines and see which one gets a better open rate. Point is, the subject is the first thing you test.

Twitter Marketing Tip – Stop Spamming

This Twitter marketing tip is about spamming. So many people are using Twitter now and many of their Tweets are just basically spam posts pushing their website or blog. This is not going to get them anywhere but unfollowed. The rules of Web 2.0/3.0 and social networking won’t work like that.

Spammers follow thousands of people every day, multiple times a day, they send out Tweets saying “Make ,000 a week, go here to find out how. blah, blah, blah, my website”. So many people are doing this, and I’m guessing they are not seeing very good results. The word spamming means more than just sending unsolicited emails. Now days, spamming is classed as sending messages that have no value. Advertising your website with nothing for the person to gain definitely falls in this field.

So how do you get respect from your followers, and have them see you as an authority and an expert and not a spammer? How can you get them to start seeing you as an expert and an authority, because this is when they will more likely want to go to your website and buy whatever you are selling! This is when you will be able to control your niche market and dominate.

Here are some simple steps to follow to gain the respect and interest of your followers.
